Goodbye to the love of my life

This blog is my letter of farewell to Cocaine, my drug of choice and a love affair that lasted for years. It’s an honest letter written by myself in rehab.

When giving up drugs or any addiction, especially after a sustained period of time, to suddenly let go means that you lose something, almost like a bereavement, and with that said there is a grieving process that you must go through to ultimately get to the point of acceptance.

I first tried this in treatment last year and the letter I wrote had plenty of anger and bargainin but the reality was filled mainly with denial, these are 3 of the 5 stages of grieving.

The other 2, depression and acceptance I believe are delivered in this version.

Part 2, The final farewell;

To the only person, I ever thought understood me, to you, cocaine, my ‘Mrs Dependable’, ‘Mrs Reliable’, my mood stabiliser and ultimately my game changer.

I don’t know where to begin? This is the 2nd time I’ve tried to say goodbye in a letter, last year it seemed easy,  it flowed, I was angry, pissed off and dismissive and I was pleased to see the back of you, or maybe I wasn’t and maybe that’s why I’m back here for round 2.

Somehow this time it’s different.

The thought of never having any type of relationship with you ever again makes me feel scared, nervous, anxious and sad, ironically all the feelings that I never felt last time round, and all the uncomfortable feelings I’ve used you to numb over the years. Perhaps I was in denial and not ready to let go.

I can think back to the days when things were perfect, we were happy, euphoric times, an instant mind altering experience but the reality is it hasn’t been like this for a long time, yet I still haven’t been able to live without you. I’ve used you for the good the bad and the ugly and boy has it been ugly.

*** TOP WEDDING TIP OF THE DAY ***
Do not be fooled by glamourous pop star styled wedding band promo videos? A decent videographer and sound engineer can make any band look and sound amazing having recorded and mixed their promo in a studio editing suite but what do they sound like LIVE. We have discovered a huge trend in wedding band promotional pop videos sweeping the market but there can a marked difference between what you will see on youtube or facebook to how the band will sound live on the evening of your special day. We feel this is misleading! We recommend you book a band that promote themselves using live footage or if you can get the chance always see them perform a live set before booking.

Tips for Planning a Wedding on a Tight Budget

Are you and your significant other planning on getting married on a somewhat limited budget? If so, 1StopWeddingShop have load of options to suit all styles and budget covering the whole of the UK.  You are no doubt, quite eager to find ways that will allow you to save money while not sacrificing the quality of your special day.

Let’s take a look at some of the best ways to properly plan for this event without breaking the bank:

Seasonal Considerations

It is important to keep in mind that like many other events, the time of the year can have a definite impact on the cost of your wedding. It is generally common for venues to charge more during the spring and summer months. So, choosing the winter to host a “white wedding” is likely to save you a bit of money (many locations will offer reduced rates).

Photography

A wedding photographer can be quite an expensive addition. However, we must not forget that quality photography is essential to capture the special moments of the bride and groom. Indeed, there are many skill levels in between that “uncle who fancies a bit of photography” and a professional service. Instead, you should compare and contrast prices on the Internet to encounter the best photographer within a certain price bracket.

Open Bar?

For many guests, an open bar is a highly desirable aspect of the formal ceremony. However, never forget that any and all free drinks to attendees will need to be paid for. This bill may actually run into the thousands of pounds. So, you may consider offering a handful of free drinks until a certain point in time. Thereafter, the guests can either pay for their own or opt for drinks that are reduced in price.

Entertainment: Live or Not?

Live entertainers are certainly fun and exciting, but professional wedding entertainment can charge a great deal of money for only a short performance. Although it is true that such entertainment is highly engaging, you may be better off employing a friend as a DJ or even choosing to prearrange your music on a computerised system or a mp3 player. This may actually be more agreeable, for you are likely to know the tastes of your guests more than a one-time performer ever would.

So, it is clear to see that with a bit of innovation and foresight, you can save a considerable amount of money on your wedding while still allowing it to reflect the quality and passion of such a special day.

Bridal Preps – Do I or Don’t I?

Can’t decide on whether or not to have bridal preps for your wedding day? At Shine Pics Photography, we believe that they help set the tone for the rest of your day.  By giving you and your photographer that little bit extra time on the day before the ceremony starts, to go over the day, help set your nerves at ease and generally just have a bit of fun with your bridesmaids.

Bridal Preps by Shine Pics Belfast

Bridal Preps help you capture those last moments with the people closest to you, mum, dad, your best man, your bridesmaids.  The look in your daddy’s eyes as he see’s you for the first time in your dress. Helping him do his tie up and fix his buttonhole. That last glass of champagne with your girls.  All these amazing memories captured forever. With a video addon, you get so much more, the video camera always captures those little bits that everyone misses. Kids running around just being kids, raw emotions on your parent’s faces.  All the things that you don’t see because of the speed the day happens at.

For most brides, the big day is a nerve racking experience, and if you are like a lot of brides, you won’t like being the centre of attention.  This hour with your photographer before the big event really help to put your fears at ease and will also help to go through any last minute changes you may have made or want with regard to your photography for the day.

Based in Belfast, Shine Pics cover the whole or Northern Ireland and Ireland and are available for Single or Dual Photographer/Videographer packages.  We also offer Selfie Mirrors for your Evening Entertainment.

Below is a wedding video compilation showing some bridal preps for both men and woman.

Google Sitemaps

Google Sitemaps is an easy way to tell Google about all the pages on your site, which pages are most important to you, and when those pages change, for a smarter crawl and fresher search results.

Google Sitemaps also answers questions you might have about how Google sees your site. For example, you can learn about errors (such as if we’re having trouble crawling your pages) and statistics (such as and what search queries return your site in the results).

How Google discovers page and how you can take control
Search engines such as Google discover information about your site by employing software known as “spiders” to crawl the web. Once the spiders find a site, they follow links within the site to gather information about all the pages. The spiders periodically revisit sites to find new or changed content.

Frames and search engines

With Frames, it is possible to still optimise a website, but it does make it a lot more difficult because of the way the search engines read the website. The biggest problems with frames and search engines is that each part of the site is treated as an individual page, so if a result appeared within the “frame”, then the search engine may return just that specific page, which may not have a menu attached to it.  Here is google’s response to frames:http://www.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?answer=474&query=frames&topic=0&type=f

Monitoring Search Engine positions

Since search engines are the first stop for people on the Internet looking for goods or services, the position your website appears in search results is an important factor. If your URL shows up far down the results list, the chances of the consumer never finding you increase incrementally.
